Skype Toolbar for Outlook - Make Skype Calls From Microsoft Office and Outlook
The Skype Toolbar for Outlook lets you make Skype calls from Microsoft Office and Outlook. It's free, but it requires a Skype account to work.
The toolbar recognises Skype names and phone numbers even from the cc or email headers, so you can immediately call them, chat to them, send instant messages or start group IM conversations. You can even automatically set Skype chat topics to the subject of your email messages.
It also allows you to see who's online and offline from selected items on the Outlook toolbar, including e-mails, contacts, tasks or appointments. It can even journal your Skype calls so you can later view them with the standard Outlook dialer.
There's also a feature to allow you to pin the Skype for Business shortcut to the Windows 10 taskbar, so it always opens there. It can be done with a right-click (or long press and release for touchscreens) on the icon and a menu will appear above it.
In addition, the toolbar adds a dedicated Team space to any new meeting you create in Outlook that is associated with a Microsoft account that subscribes to voice service. That way, you can provide your invitees with a dial-in number and link to join the meeting on their Teams device.
The Skype Toolbar for Outlook is a free application software download that you can install on your Windows computer. Once installed, the toolbar appears as a small button on your Windows Taskbar, next to the Start button.
